Report: Cbanker sees Russian inflation at 4.5% in Dec, at 5% in Feb
MOSCOW, Dec 9 (PRIME) -- Russia's inflation will rise to 4.5% in December from 4.42% in November, and will peak in February 2021 a 5%, Central Bank Chairwoman Elvira Nabiullina said on Wednesday.
"Consumer-price growth will reach 4.5% until the year end and is unlikely to exceed 5% at its peak in February," Nabiullina said. "Inflationary expectations may remain elevated for some time and the policy makers will factor that in when deciding on the rates next week."
She also said that in March inflation is to start to decrease due to a high base effect. The economy is to recover to the pre-pandemic level in January–June 2022, and disinflationary pressure will fall by that time.
